A snail farmer, as with any other animal, should think about the limits of his activity as a producer and marketing his products. Traditionally worldwide, and Brasil is not an exception, snail marketing proceeds the following way:

a) selling live snails for slaughtering;
b) selling frozen meat;
c) selling ready to eat dishes(frozen or not);
d) canning industry ;
e) shells for handicrafts;
f) shells as a base for animal supplement food;
g) live bait for fishing;

The consumer market for snails is composed of restaurants, hotels, gourmet shops, supermarkets, familys, canning industries, exporters, decorators, architects, boutiques, animal supplement food industries, and fishing ponds of the type pay and fish.

Commercial snail farming began in Brazil in the late seventies. All over the world, the marketing of snail meat is intimately related to its quality. The quality, in itself, is related to the farming technic used, the quality of reproducers used, which should be rigorously selected, and the correct form of slaughtering the production. Verify the comparative table for behavior of brazilian species by clicking here.

We offer MARKING SUPPORT: we are interested in acquiring the production of our clients of selected reproducers and we also orient for selling the production directly on the meat market. We only acquire live animals within our quality standards which are established and divulged in the course and by our technical assistance.

We offer selected reproducers of Gros gris (Helix aspersa), indicated for regions with moderate climates, and selected reproducers of Achatina fulica (Chinese snail), indicated for regions with higher temperatures. We give technical orientation about the appropriate species so you can begin your farming.

The price for any of the two species of reproducers is U$ 28 per dozen. We send our selected reproducers to any part of the country. For those people who raise from selected reproducers provided by us, following our technical orientations, we give free and PERMANENT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE by letter, phone, and fax by on-line form clicking here.
